Real project constraints
Many metering projects stall when standard electricians encounter network compliance barriers. These are common pathways, not descriptions of completed projects.
A common issue in older Sydney homes. If a second meter cannot physically fit in the existing enclosure alongside the required isolation switches, we evaluate the board for panel rearrangement or complete replacement before the retailer arrives.
When a secondary dwelling is added, the total maximum demand of the property increases. If an assessment determines the existing incoming supply cable is too small, in-house Level 2 ASP capability for applicable granny-flat and supply-upgrade works may be relevant, subject to scope, authorisations and network requirements.
A new metering installation often requires the existing switchboard to be brought up to current AS/NZS 3000 standards. Depending on the assessment, we can manage switchboard upgrades or replacements to support the metering preparation.
